Position Announcement Position: Assistant Professor, Early Childhood Education (tenure-track), College of Education Department: Teacher Education Description: The Department of Teacher Education is searching for a qualified and experienced Early Childhood Education specialist to teach entry level core education courses based on learning community framework as well as specialty courses such as (but not limited to) Growth and Learning; Integrating and Adapting Curriculum in the Content Areas; Observation, Assessment and Evaluation of Diverse Learners, all at the P-3 level. This position will entail school visits during associated field experiences including supervision of student teachers. Position may entail teaching courses at our Camden campus. Qualifications: PhD or EdD in a field directly or closely associated with Early Childhood Education by September 1, 2010 required. If the degree is in an associated field, candidate will demonstrate strong experience in Early Childhood Education. Candidate must meet minimum qualifications for licensure to teach Early Childhood (P-3) in NJ. A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in teaching the P-3 learner is required. Successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to scholarship and service and will be able to articulate a research agenda that supports the Conceptual Framework of the Rowan University College of Education as it relates to Early Childhood Education. Experience and expertise in Urban Education for the P-3 Learner University level teaching experience preferred.
