Position Announcement Position: Assistant Professor, Chemical Engineering (tenure-track), College of Engineering Department: Chemical Engineering Description: This position entails developing and sustaining an externally funded research program which utilizes our multidisciplinary engineering clinics and graduate program. The candidate will be expected to form collaborations with universities and industries in the region. The university is located near leading pharmaceutical, chemical, petrochemical and biotechnology companies. Opportunities for research will also be available at the new Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. A plan for the use and development of innovative teaching techniques in courses and laboratories must be presented. Qualifications: A doctorate in chemical engineering or related field is required for appointment. Preferred research area is in advanced materials engineering with a focus in nanotechnology, biomaterials, composites, sustainable materials or electronic materials; however outstanding candidates in all areas will be considered. Excellence in education and scholarship are required. Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Starting Date: September 1, 2010 Salary: Competitive General Info: The College of Engineering has innovative Bachelor and Master of Science degree programs in Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, and Mechanical Engineering that emphasize multidisciplinary experiences, teamwork, technical communication, and continuous engineering applications throughout the four years. The College of Engineering was created through a $100M gift from Henry and Betty Rowan and has continued to expand through the new South Jersey Tech Park. We have a highly selective student-centered undergraduate program. At Rowan we have a dynamic engineering college and are looking for faculty with new and innovative ideas.
