Position Announcement Position: Associate Director of Orientation and Student Leadership, Managerial Department: Student Affairs Description: The Rowan University Division of Student Affairs is seeking an experienced professional for a permanent full-time position as Associate Director of Orientation and Student Leadership Programs. Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement, the Associate Director provides leadership for designing, planning and implementing university-wide orientation programs and services, which contribute to successful new student adjustment to campus. The Associate Director will have responsibility for developing collaborative, integrated and comprehensive orientation programs for first year and transfer students. Additionally, the Associate Director in conjunction with the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement, will be responsible for articulating a shared vision for a comprehensive university-wide student leadership initiative. Created within a framework of leadership theory and professional standards for excellence in leadership programming, the Associate Director will work in partnership to design and implement a strategic plan for student leadership , which is reflective of the university's and division's mission and core values. Qualifications: A Masters degree is required in student personnel administration, higher education or a related discipline. Three or more years of progressively responsible and practical administrative experience in University setting and student affairs, including: policy development, fiscal management, budget development and staff supervision and evaluation is required. Three or more years experience is preferred in the areas of Orientation and Leadership programming. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, prepare reports, coordinate with key offices, develop and manage budgets, coordinate policies and procedures, and maintain record keeping systems is required. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work as a member of the Center for Student Engagement team, with a commitment to change, and a commitment to continuous program improvement, the foundation of which is a need based data and mission driven assessment of student learning outcomes. The successful candidate will demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, as well as leadership ability and administrative skills.
