Athletic Director named to NCAA Football Committee | More Rowan engineering students' airplane research crystal clear | More Rowan names new business dean | MoreWelcome to the Department of Economics Rowan's Economics program attracts students whose interest in business extends beyond the specific areas of accounting, finance, management, and marketing. The major exposes them to economic theories and trends in the context of other disciplines such as history, political science, sociology and psychology. The department also offers practical skills-oriented courses, such as Economics of Personal Finance and Risk and Insurance. Students often work with faculty members on their research and sometimes even travel with them to professional conferences. Internships, field experiences, and other hands-on programs extend students' education beyond the boundaries of classroom and campus. Because economics involves the study of many disciplines, students gain a broad-based education that qualifies them to work in many fields including banking, business administration, finance, consulting, social services, stock market and financial services. The Career Journal recently named economics the new hot major! |
