ELECTRONICS POLICY

PROF. HOWE

I work hard to prepare well crafted lectures with carefully selected examples used
to illustrate new material. I am finished tolerating students text messaging friends during these lectures, retrieving e-mails, entering chat rooms and playing electronic games. I've encountered all of the above.  I've had it.

a)         Laptop computers are NOT allowed in my class.

b)         Electronic communication devices of ALL types will be turned off before entering ............the room.

c)         Use of an electronic communication devise or leaving one on - 1st offense  - you ............will be removed from the room during that lecture.

d)         Second, offense - your will be permanently removed from my classroom. If you ............do not withdraw, I will fail you.

e)         If I find an electronic communication devise is on during a test day (for example - ............a cell phone rings) in spite of being informed of this policy, I will treat that as ............prima facie evidence of cheating or intending to cheat and I will assign a grade of ............0 for that test.
