Rowan University's
Campbell Library is a
selective depository for U.S. Government
publications, receiving 34% of the
publications distributed
by the Federal
Depository Library Program (FDLP).
Campbell
Library is also a depository for
publications of the state
of New Jersey.
Government Documents
are publications issued at government expense or by the authority
of a government body. They cover a wide range of subject matter
as the government is involved in almost all aspects of our
society. Many documents may be located through the library's
online catalog. Others may be located through GPO in Webspirs, through the Catalog of U.S. Government Publications,
or though the Monthly Catalog (GP 3.8/8) in the Government Documents area (Library Room 245).
Many documents may be accessed electronically.
The Government
Documents collection is located on the second floor of Campbell
Library, Room 245. For assistance with locating and/or using
Government Documents, please check out this Tutorial on Goverment Documents, see a member of the Government
Documents Staff or ask a Reference Librarian.
Our documents do not circulate. Members of the public who wish to use any of the government documents are welcome to visit during the hours posted.
New Jersey is one of the "pilot" states chosen by GPO for the newly instituted Public Access Assessment (on-site inspection) process. In August 2008, Rowan University's Government Documents Department was one of the first visited by a PAA inspection team, and received high praise for its achievements in the 4 areas of concern: access, collection, service, and cooperative efforts.
