Women's and Gender Studies Council

The purpose of the Women’s and Gender Studies Council is to advise the Coordinator about the Women’s and Gender Studies Program and to establish policy. It consists of eleven members including the Coordinator of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. The term of members of the Women’s and Gender Studies Council is three academic years with the possibility of being elected for a second, consecutive term. A third, consecutive term can only be served if there is a disruption in service between the second and third term. The term of service begins in the Fall semester and ends in the Spring semester. Individuals wishing to serve on the Women’s and Gender Studies Council should submit a one-page letter of qualification and interest to the Nominating Committee. The candidates must indicate which Standing Committees they would be interested to serve on. Women’s and Gender Studies Council members can be any member of the Rowan University community interested in strengthening and expanding the Women’s and Gender Studies Program on this campus. The Women’s and Gender Studies Council is convened and presided over by the Coordinator of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program. The Women’s and Gender Studies Council meets at least two times per semester during the academic year.
