Local History

In August of 2001, local sorority Alpha Delta Epsilon affiliated with Theta Phi Alpha, becoming the Rowan University Colony of Theta Phi Alpha. Alpha Delta Epsilon was founded in 1974 and on the basis of friendship, loyalty, truth, unity and honesty. Many of the same things that Theta Phi Alpha represents. It was the first sorority at Glassboro State University, and was around for over twenty seven years before the sisters decided to colonize with a national orginazation.

After over a year of hard work, the Rowan University Colony of Theta Phi Alpha was installed as the Gamma Delta Chapter. Since that day the sisterhood has over doubled in size, won national and school awards, and has become highly involved on campus. Every year, we celebrate our local founders day, December 14 to recognize the sisters that have helped us come this far.
