  What is GEO all about?

GEO is a service-oriented environmental group at Rowan University.  Its goals are to raise awareness of environmental issues on and around campus, and to increase activism amongst the Rowan community.  GEO is acitve in strengthening the recycling program at Rowan, specifically in the dorms.  GEO also participates in beautifying the campus through numerous campus clean-ups during the school year.  Off campus, GEO is involved with any outside organization that appeals to its members, such as The Coalition for Peace and Justice, Marine Mammal Wildlife Stranding Center, Adopt-a-Highway, American Oceans Campaign, and The Unplug Salem Campaign.

One of our big activities right now is Focus the Nation, which will culminate January 31, 2008 with day-long meetings on Gobal Warming held simultaneously at over a thousand campuses, places of worship, businesses,  and other venues across the country. GEO is planning a day of activities at Rowan.
