Rowan University's Yearbook, The Image
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get my picture in the yearbook?
During the spring or fall semester before your graduation year, Herff
Jones, the yearbook photographer, comes to campus to photograph all
seniors. For specific dates, please visit here.
If I'm graduating during the Fall semester, in which yearbook will I appear?
The yearbook is inclusive of each calendar year. Students graduating in Spring, Summer and Fall of 2013 will appear in the 2013 yearbook.
Do I have to sign up to have my picture taken?
Yes. If you are a spring or fall graduate, you must make an appointment
to be photographed in the previous spring or fall. Any portraits taken
after that time will not be included in that year's yearbook due to
deadlines.
How do I sign up?
You can call the Herff Jones portrait line at 1-800-OUR-YEAR™ (687-9327) during normal business hours or log onto Herff Jones’ 24-hour scheduling site, http://WWW.OURYEAR.COM, and enter school code 187.
How will I know when the portraits are being taken?
Herff Jones sends a mailing to all seniors. Also, an email blast
is sent to all seniors, the Student Center staff hangs posters and
ads are placed in The Whit.
Can I give you a photo that was taken by another photographer?
The Image is unable to include any senior portrait that has not been
processed by Herff Jones Photography. The entire senior portrait system
is computerized and the photos are sent electronically from the
photographer to the printer. There is no way to handle an individual
photo taken by someone else.
Is there a charge to have my portrait taken?
There is no charge for the sitting and you do not have to purchase
portraits to be included in the yearbook. The photographer will send you
your photos, along with an order sheet, if you wish to purchase them. Whether or not you choose to
purchase any photos, you still should choose the pose you would like to
appear in the yearbook.
Who decides what pose goes in the yearbook?
If you did not select a yearbook pose from the proofs mailed to your home, the
photographer will choose a standard pose and send it to The
Image. We do not choose the pictures.
What happens to the information I give you on the day of my portrait?
The information sheets filled out on the day of your appointment will not necessarily be used. The number of students photographed
determines how much space is available to include your activities,
major, etc. You should still fill out the form so your information is
available if needed.
How do I get a yearbook?
The yearbooks are free to all seniors with a Rowan ID. They are distributed first come, first
served at the Student Center Information Desk during Senior Week. You will receive an email
when they arrive.
What if I'm unable to pick up my yearbook?
If a senior wants a yearbook mailed, he or she must send a check for $15 made out to "Image Yearbook" to:
Nancy Fox
SGA Office, Student Center
Rowan University
201 Mullica Hill Road
Glassboro, NJ 08028
Please include your name, phone number, email address and the address to where the book should be sent. After the check and information are received, a yearbook will be mailed via UPS.
Can non-seniors get a yearbook?
Non-seniors can purchase a yearbook for $25, but they are not available until after Commencement.
