College of Engineering Commencement - Secondary Ceremony Ceremony location: Rowan Green Approximate start time: 12 p.m. Approximate end time: 1 p.m. Ticket information: The College of Engineering secondary ceremony does not require tickets, regardless of venue (indoors or outdoors). Line up and processional: Students will report to the Rowan Hall Atrium immediately following the main ceremony and line up according to major in designated areas. As students line up by discipline, staff will hand each student the 3x5 index card on which they were previously asked to print their name and return to their program secretary. Following the Dean’s welcome and student speaker’s address, graduates will be called to the platform to receive diplomas by discipline. As each graduate proceeds to the platform to receive their diploma, they will hand the index card to the reader. The reader will announce each student as they cross the stage to shake hands with the Dean and platform guests. A photographer from Chappell Studio will photograph each graduate receiving their diploma. Graduates will then return to their seats. Marshals will be on hand to direct the process from beginning to end. Ceremony schedule: Welcome and introductions Student speaker Degree awards Closing Rain ceremony: In the event of a severe rainstorm, the College of Engineering Commencement ceremony will move indoors to the Pfleeger Concert Hall in Wilson Hall starting at 2 p.m. Students should arrive no later than 1:00 p.m. to line up. Tickets are not required for this ceremony.
