Dr. Farrell's research interests include inductive and experiential learning in engineering, spatial visualization, and participation of underserved groups in engineering. Farrell’s contributions to engineering education have been recognized nationally and internationally with honors including the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Robert G. Quinn Award and National Outstanding Teaching Award. She was awarded Honoris Causa in Engineering Education from the International Society for Engineering Pedagogy (IGIP) in 2012. In 2014-15, Stephanie spent one year at Dublin Institute of Technology as a Fulbright Scholar in Engineering Education. She is a Fellow of ASEE.
