4.  Statewide and Regional Networking

  To provide college representatives the opportunity to network and share ideas about effective prevention programming strategies about binge drinking, the relation of academic failure and alcohol and other drug abuse, and the need for smoke-free campuses, six statewide consortium meetings will be held at approximately six week intervals from September to June.  These two hour meetings will sum to 12 hour s of annual networking.  Meeting minutes and attendance records will be kept.  Documentation of the development of collaborative efforts as a result of this opportunity to network will be summarized in the final report.  Statewide consortium members will be surveyed concerning the effectiveness of the consortium meetings in providing information dissemination and networking.

    To reinforce and extend the opportunity for networking, the North, Central and South Jersey Higher Education Consortia will meet six times during the year to disseminate information and prevention programming strategies.  These meetings will provide 36 additional hours of annual networking.  Documentation of the development of collaborative efforts as a result of these opportunities to network will be summarized in the final report.  Regional consortia members will be surveyed concerning the effectiveness of the consortium meetings in providing information dissemination and networking.  The consortia liaison will provide technical assistance and coordinate consortia events to provide maximum use of resources.
