Faculty BioAdeline
Tomasone Adeline Tomasone (flute) has been Assistant Professor of Flute at Rowan University since 1983. She made her debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra when she was just twelve years old, and at the age of seventeen she was accepted to the to the Curtis Institute of Music. Upon graduation she was appointed to her first university level teaching position. At Rowan, Professor Tomasone teaches studio flute, directs the Flute Ensemble, and performs in the Rowan University Faculty Woodwind Quintet and the Rowan Baroque Ensemble. She presents frequent master classes and clinics in the greater Philadelphia area and beyond. Professor Tomasone’s performing career has spanned everything from disco to Broadway Theater to a contract with the Philadelphia Orchestra, with which she toured Asia in 1989. She has performed with artists as varied as Luciano Pavarotti, Riccardo Mutti, and Rod Stewart. She is currently Principal Flutist of the Opera Company of Philadelphia, the Mozart Orchestra, and the Davidsbund Chamber Players. She can also be heard on her recently released solo CD “Fantasies”. Professor Tomasone received the MALS degree from Rutgers University in 2000 and her scholarly articles have appeared in such publications as the AGLS Journal and the Franklin Gazette.
