out McSiip
Rowan University has been awarded $2.5 million to work with four southern
New Jersey school districts in reforming
mathematics and science instruction. As a partner in a $12.3 million grant
to Rutgers University from the National Science
Foundation, Rowan will also collaborate with Kean University and eight other
NJ districts.
The Rowan, Rutgers and Kean partnership was one of seven
nationwide proposals awarded the NSF grants. The funds, which will be
disbursed over five years, will be used to unite the activities of higher
education institutions, pre-kindergarten through high school systems and other
partners to support better teacher development in math and science, and raise
student achievement.
The Math and Science Partnership in southern New Jersey
will be administered through the Mathematics, Computer, and
Science Instructional Improvement Program (McSiip), which is part of
the Liberal Arts and Sciences Institute at Rowan
University. McSiip is a New Jersey registered professional development
provider.
