Office of Sponsored Programs Mission The mission of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is to provide the Rowan University faculty with relevant information and guidance for the submission of quality proposals to federal, state, and industrial sponsors, and to provide effective stewardship of awarded funds. Post-award (grant accounting) functions have been added to the OSP. Please see the links below for further information on the reorganization and staffing functions. Required Paperwork A two-page “Proposal Planning Form” must be completed by the Principal Investigator (PI), printed, signed by the PI, the PI’s Chair, and the PI’s Dean and submitted to OSP within FIVE DAYS of the sponsor’s deadline. Note: The College of Science & Mathematics requires this form to be submitted to the Dean fifteen working days before sponsor's submission deadline (or seven working days before, if new equipment or space are NOT requested). Recent OSP Developments NEW February 2013 - Changes to NIH Public Access Policy Compliance Efforts Apply to All Awards with Anticipated Start Dates on or after July 1, 2013 NEW January 2013 - Effective retroactively from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013, fringe rates are as follows: January 2013- The Office of Sponsored Programs and University Advancement offer weekly educational workshops. November 2012- In 2013, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will begin to block the renewal of grant awards in cases where journal publications arising from the award do not comply with its open-access rule. In order to avoid disruptions to your NIH awards, please ensure that your publications include the PMC reference number (PMCID) when citing applicable papers.
