RESEARCH SUMMARY:
I am DRBA Professor and Chair of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Program. My research primarily focuses on finite-element modeling and field ambient vibration analysis of bridges. I have been the principal investigator on past projects including finite-element modeling and analysis of pipeline suspension bridges; database development, field ambient vibration analysis, and finite-element modeling and analysis of bridges in the Pacific Northwest and bridges in the Central United States; finite-element modeling and analysis, and laboratory testing of medium-duty transit buses; photographic survey and field ambient vibration analysis of the Delaware Memorial Bridge; and field ambient vibration analysis, finite-element modeling, and earthquake analysis of the Betsy Ross, Walt Whitman, and Ben Franklin Bridges as part of the DRPA Project.

I am a a registered professional engineer in the State of Michigan and a member of the following professional associations: American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society for Engineering Education, National Society of Professaionl Engineers, Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, U.S. Naval Institute.
