Welcome from the Associate Provost for Research At Rowan University, faculty are actively engaged in scholarly, research, and creative activities, all of which contribute to the quality of instruction of students inside and out of classrooms. Teaching is the primary expectation of faculty and scholarly activity is also expected. For many faculty, scholarly activity takes the form of research. At Rowan University, we place emphasis on applied research- that is research that is designed to help solve real world problems and can be applied quickly. We also place a high priority on including students as collaborators with faculty on research, with many students sharing authorship of papers and presenting at prestigious conferences as a result of their work with faculty. Our goal is to integrate research and scholarship with teaching to enhance learning opportunities within the Rowan academic community. The mission of the Office of the Associate Provost for Research (OAPR) is to support and promote student and faculty research at Rowan University. The office oversees the operation of the Office of Government Grants and ensures that research is conducted in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines by managing several aspects of research compliance, including:
