Parking Services FAQs

1. How can I buy a Rowan Permit?

All students, faculty and staff are required to obtain a Rowan Parking Permit for any vehicle they have on campus. To purchase a Rowan permit please go to rowan.ThePermitStore.com

2. Where is the Parking Office located?

The Parking Office is located in Bole Annex, on Whitney Ave. adjacent to the Greenhouse.

3. Where should I park?

  • Employee lots are reserved for employees with employee permits. They include Lots A-1, B-1, E, G, H, M, P, U, and Z-1. Employees may park in student lots if the adjacent employee lot is full.
  • Commuter lots are reserved for commuter students with commuter permits. They include Lots A, C, D, M-1, R, & Y. There is no parking allowed in Commuter lots from 2 am to 6:00 am.
  • Resident lots are reserved for resident students with resident permits. They include lots at the Triad, Edgewood Park, and Chestnut, B, J, X, and Parking Garage(available for townhouse resident’s only)
  • Recreation Center members not otherwise affiliated with the University may park in Lot M from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., and Lots B or C at other times with a valid permit.
  • Evening students with a valid permit may use Employee  parking spaces in lots H, P and Z-1 between 4:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday through Friday.

Please note that although Rowan Parking Permits are required to park anywhere on Rowan campus, owning a Permit does not guarantee any person a parking space.

4. Can Freshmen Resident have cars on campus?

In order for freshmen resident to have a car on campus they must obtain written permission from the Parking Office. Please contact the Parking Office for further assistance.

5. If I receive a parking citation, how do I appeal it?

All parking citations must be appealed within 10 days of receiving the citation. You must file your appeal online at rowan.thepermitstore.com

6. If I receive a parking citation how do I pay the fine?

Fines may be paid online at rowan.thepermitstore.com or mailed to The Permit Store, PO Box 2358, Santa Barbara, CA 93120-2358.  All checks must be made out to “The Permit Store” and must include the citation number and/or license plate number when mailing payment.

7. Can I park overnight in any parking lot?

Overnight Parking is for Resident Students is limited to the following lots: Triad, Edgewood Park, Chestnut, and Lots B, J, X, and the parking garage. Non-resident students may park overnight in the parking garage if they purchase a garage parking permit (on a space-available basis).

8. Who is allowed to park in the Parking Garage?

Residents of the Townhouses may park in the Parking Garage. Townhouse residents are required to obtain a Parking Permit and Gate Access Card. You may purchase your Parking Permit online at rowan.ThePermitStore.com but Gate Access Cards must be obtained in person at the Parking Office.  Additional permits may become available for non-townhouse residents.

9. If I have a handicap placard do I still need a Rowan Parking Permit?

In short, yes. You may purchase your Parking Permit at rowan.ThePermitStore.com. Both the Rowan Parking Permit and handicap placard must be on display at all times in order to avoid a parking ticket and/or penalties.

10. I'm visiting the Rowan Campus, where can I get a temporary (Visitor) Rowan Parking Permit?

During regular business hours, Temporary Parking Permits may be obtained through the Parking Office in Bole Annex or at any Welcome Gate. After regular business hours, you can obtain a Temporary Parking Permit in the Communication Office in Bole Annex.

11. Where should my permit be placed on my car?

Permits must be fully affixed to the lower-left-hand corner of the driver-side rear side window. If a rear driver-side window is not available, then place on the bottom left of the rear window. (Do not laminate or place on plastic with suction cups.)
