Pre College Institute

As an EOF/MAP student, you are required to attend a five-week residential summer orientation session on the Rowan University campus.

The PCI program is designed to help EOF/MAP student’s transition to the rigors of college study and campus life. It includes coursework, structured study periods, a campus orientation and social activities. You'll also get an advance look at the campus-wide student clubs, organizations and activities available at Rowan. The PCI program develops a community of learners and support networks which assists with their successful transition to Rowan University.

This program is divided into four components to assist EOF/MAP students in making the transition from high school to college.

Academic: To assist students in developing academic skills necessary to compete successfully in a university setting.

Interpersonal: To assist students in developing interpersonal skills to effectively communicate.

Residential: To assist students in developing shared living skills needed to successfully reside on a campus.

Leadership: To assist students in developing concepts of personal leadership. By the time the fall semester begins, students have a head start on their life as a Rowan University student-both academically and socially. Once the summer is over, students continue to receive support services through the EOF/MAP program. Pre- College Institute Learning Outcomes
