What is S.C.H.O.L.A.R.S.?
S.C.H.O.L.A.R.S. is an exciting opportunity for students in the Educational Opportunity Fund/Maximizing Academic Potential (EOF/MAP) program to continue the academic and social support networks gained through the Pre-College Institute that has proven to be an integral component to students’ success. This collaborative living/learning experience integrates the support of students, faculty, and the EOF/MAP program staff which inspires academic excellence and enhances the overall first-year experience for students.

Academic Component
“The teachers I had helped me tremendously with my schoolwork.”
Students participating in the learning community will be enrolled together, or "linked", in two general education courses during the fall and spring semesters. The linked courses allow students to work together and build community. The professors teaching the linked learning community courses will collaborate on student assignments and will work closely with the students and the learning community coordinator to aid in students’ academic success.
