The Office of Healthy Campus Initiatives (HCI) respects the right of our students to make their own choices. We support those who choose not to drink, and strive to create a community where the behaviors of drinkers does not infringe on the rights of others.
To get you off on the right foot, all Rowan freshmen are REQUIRED to complete the online Alcohol-Wise course before attending classes. You will need a passing grade of at least 75 percent. Freshmen will receive an e-mail from 3rd Millennium Classrooms on or about July 15, 2013 to complete a 15-minute mandatory follow-up 30 days after completing the online course.
The Alcohol-Wise course takes about one hour to complete and the follow-up takes about 15 minutes. To receive credit, you must follow the instructions below and enter the correct control number:
You will not need a credit or debit card to enroll. The course takes about one hour to complete and you can login and out as needed.
You will receive an email in 30 days reminding you to complete the 15-minute follow-up. You and HCI will receive an e-mail notification of your completion only after you finish both the course and follow-up. This course is confidential and individual student answers are not reported. There is excellent information in this program, whether you drink or not. You will have a chance to look at your own drinking habits, learn tips on how to drink in moderation and avoid high-risk drinking, as well as tips on how to deal with others who are disruptive or in danger.
Alcohol Wise classes can currently be taken on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays as designated. For furter questions, please contact the Wellness Center.
