Fitness
Fitness is the condition of being physically fit and healthy, among other definitions. It includes:
Cardiovascular Fitness: the ability of the heart, lungs and vascular system to deliver oxygenated blood to the muscles during activity (ex. Running, walking, biking, swimming)
Muscular Strength: the body’s ability to exert a force against a heavy resistance (ex. Lifting a heavy weight)
Muscular Endurance: the body’s ability to repeat a movement of exertion over time, or hold a position over an extended period of time (ex. Doing several repetitions of lifting a weight)
Flexibility: the amount a muscle will lengthen (ex. How far one can safely stretch)
Body Composition: the amount of fat compared to muscle/bones in the body

How Much Do I Need To Exercise?
The World Health Organization recommends the following levels of activity for healthy individuals ages 18-64:
• At least 150 minutes of moderate activity during the week OR 75 minutes of high intensity activity OR and equivalent combination
• Aerobic activity of at least 10 minutes in duration
• Muscular strengthening activities on at least two days of the week
