RESOURCES
All students enrolled in summer courses have access to Rowan University resources and state of the art facilities. Rowan University features the latest in computing technology for its students, faculty and staff. There are almost thirty fully equipped computer labs on-campus. Recent campus improvements include the construction of the Science Hall, Education Hall and the Samuel H. Jones Innovation Center, the first building within the South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University.
Campus Points of InterestFollowing are details about various areas in and around campus that will make your experience taking summer classes at Rowan a fulfilling one. Access to some of these facilities requires The RowanCard. The RowanCard is the official photo identification of the University. Among other things, RowanCard holders are entitled to Rec Center access and Campbell Library borrowing privileges. Registered students must visit the Information Desk, located on the main floor of the Student Center to get their picture taken and pick up their RowanCard. Campbell LibraryRowan University's six-story Campbell Library is the largest in Southern New Jersey and houses more than 350,000 books, documents and multimedia materials. The library also provides on-line access to book, periodical and selected newspaper holdings. Barnes and Noble BookstoreThe Barnes & Noble at Rowan University is only the second collegiate superstore in the state. It offers not only a wide selection of consumer products – newspapers, magazines, books, music and gifts – but serves as the official Rowan University bookstore. Recreational CenterRowan also has a Recreational Center that is open seven days a week. This state-of-the art health club is a 92,000 square foot facility featuring a three-court gymnasium, indoor track, 25-yard pool, four racquetball courts, a cycling room, a group exercise studio, fitness and free weight room areas, full locker/shower facilities, and a juice/smoothie bar. Dining ServicesThe Dining Services Staff at Rowan University, located in the Student Center, offers a few dining options for students enrolled in summer courses. The Owl's Nest is open Monday-Thursday (11:00am-2:00pm). They have an express take-out menu as well as a full service menu for summer. In addition, The Market Basket is open Monday-Thursday (7:30am-2:30pm). They offer several to-go items such as salads and sandwiches as well as various snack options.
If the meal selections within the Student Center don’t satisfy your food cravings, there are several eating establishments just a few blocks away from campus on Delsea Drive. Go east on Bowe Boulevard to Route 47 (Delsea Drive) and north to Italian Affair, Terra Nova, Peking Buffet, SaladWorks Café, Golden Dragon, and Pizza Hut. If you go south on Delsea Drive, you will find Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Tokyo Mandarin, and PB’s Diner. There are also several stores that can be found along Delsea Drive including CVS, Kmart, Big Lots, and Staples. Campus HousingFor more information regarding staying on campus during the summer session, please visit the Residential Learning website. ParkingAll students taking summer courses throughout the four sessions will need a permit in order to park on-campus. With fewer students on campus, parking close to class locations is virtually assured. For more information on purchasing a permit, please visit the office of Public Safety.
