We first decided to make the links on the outer page in a table format, with three columns down and four rows across.
We felt this presented each link directly to the user, and allowed them to see all the links from right to left. The tendency
of English speakers is to read from left to right, so this specific user can easily see the information that way. Those whose
first language is not English are also able to easily read the links, either from right to left or top to bottom. We then cut
down the main navigators to 12 from 17, then down to 6. and renamed a few for easier recognition. We then realized we needed more text to help direct users to the correct link.
Our first redesign had too many repetitive links and was not efficient
enough to fit into our overall goal of Simply Efficient. We took a keener eye and narrowed down the categories and came up with
a very workable prototype.
