ACCOUNTING - By the Numbers!

Whether the "big four" accounting firms are calling, or your interest lies in government agencies or smaller businesses, an Accounting degree from Rowan will prepare you to deal with the implications of continually changing social and international business environments. Rowan offers Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting covering such areas as intermediate and advanced accounting, accounting information systems, budgeting, internal auditing, tax laws, cost and managerial accounting, as well as preparation for the CPA exam.

You'll have plenty of opportunity for fabulous hands-on internship sites, from Deloitte and Touche and Ernst & Young, to the State of New Jersey Taxation Department.

And, you won't have to wait until you pass the CPA or hang out your own shingle to put into real practice all that you've learned. Every year during tax season Rowan Accounting students participate in VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program), offering free tax help for people who cannot afford professional assistance. From February 1 through April 15 students assist senior citizens, people with disabilities, people with low income and fellow students to prepare their tax returns. The VITA site even offers electronic filing. Watch out H & R Block!
