Chemical Engineering - A spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship!

Rowan's Chemical Engineering Department ranks at the top of public universities and number two of all ChemE programs in the country offering undergraduate degrees, according to U.S. News and World Report.

From discovering how the human body is engineered to designing a new process to produce beer, as a Chemical Engineering student you'll explore real-world projects through hands-on lab experiences, team-based learning, and multi-disciplinary projects from the minute you step foot on campus as a freshman.

With funding from the National Science Foundation, a group of professors and students developed a freshman clinic using the systems of the human body to demonstrate engineering concepts; mass, fluid flow, work, energy and efficiency, forces and levers, material strength and stresses, and electrical signal processing. You'll do your experimenting on "live" specimens.

Another group "reverse engineered" the production of cookies (How do they get that chocolate coating all around?). They observed how the cookies are made and coated with chocolate and then figured out how to improve on the process.
