RU Ready to Learn More? Computer Science - Mastering versatility in a fast-evolving field. If you're interested in creating computer software, writing programming, and information technology, then Computer Science is the major you're looking for. We offer a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, accredited by the national Computing Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). As a Computer Science major you'll master current technology and develop the versatility needed to adapt in this fast evolving field. The program focuses on developing you as a flexible professional equipped to learn new technologies and principles. You'll specialize in a specific area from software engineering, networking and operating systems, information technology, programming languages and compilers, and artificial intelligence. Through Rowan's chapter of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), you'll get to know faculty outside the classroom, by participating in regional programming contests, attending seminars, and contribute to the local community through service projects. Graduates find careers in industry, government or education. The program will also prepare you for graduate study in Computer Science and related fields.
