Health and Physical Education - Molding Minds and Bodies!

So, you want to be a health and fitness educator? Well, it's more than swinging a whistle around your neck and getting to wear sneakers to work everyday. As a Health and Exercise Science - Teacher Certification major you'll be a professional trained in the structure and function of the human body, how we move and why we move, and rehabilitation of conditions associated with activity, movement or health-related injury. And, you'll teach all that. Not only will you learn classroom theory, you'll have plenty of field experiences and student teaching opportunities to put it into practice. You'll be certified to teach health and physical education from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The National Association for Sport and Physical Education recognizes Rowan's program as a program of excellence. Many graduates go on to teach in K-12 public and private schools throughout the state, region and across the country. Alumni include a national physical education teacher of the year. Some choose to move into related fields, and a number are well known and respected scholars teaching at major universities.
