Political Science - Decision-making for the public good; government in action.

If you want to focus on politics - the process of making and applying public decisions to deal with community problems, and the government institutions that make those decisions-then Political Science is the major for you.

As a Political Science major you'll analyze not only American politics, but international relations, political theories and the governmental systems that not only shaped the world, but also influenced the conditions of human life.

You'll study politics, and gain hands-on experience during your required public service internship. Your internship placement may be in a government agency or a legislative office where you'll learn problem-solving techniques and see how government works. And, you'll witness government in action during frequent trips and through the departmental Speaker Series bringing representatives and government officials to campus to talk about their work.

The Political Science major is the traditional path not only to law school, but also to graduate schools of public administration and urban planning. Rowan's Pre-Law Advisory program is housed in the Political Science department.
