If you want to perform, direct, manage behind the scenes or teach, you can find a program to meet your goals in the Theatre and Dance Department.

The Theatre major is geared toward the professional theatre and dance world offering three distinct tracks:

• Acting/Directing, if you want to become an actor or director
• Design/Tech, if you're interested in set design, costume design, lighting and other backstage work
• Dance, if you want to be a dancer or choreographer

Teaching certification is offered through a 5-Year BA/Master of Science in Teaching Theatre Education program in the Colleges of Fine & Performing Arts & Education. Minors are offered in Dance and Theatre, and concentrations are offered in Theatrical Design and Dance.

You'll have plenty of opportunity to practice your craft. The department produces at least ten events each year ranging from full-scale mainstage events to student-directed and choreographed productions. The close proximity to Philadelphia and New York offers many opportunities for internships and involvement with the professional theatre scene.
