Assessing General Education Learning Outcomes at Rowan University: A Report of the Findings of the Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (pdf)

The Learning Outcomes Assessment Committee (LOAC) has been working for some time on identifying an approach to assessing learning outcomes of the General Education program here at Rowan. The LOAC has put together this white paper summarizing their findings and would like to share it with the campus before presenting it to the Senate.

The report is important to help provide coherence to the curricular process of aligning the outcomes of new Gen Ed courses (Process B). It is also an opportunity to reopen the conversation on how Rowan does Gen Ed and how well it is serving our students and our academic programs. This topic has come up often in recent months.
