To accept Loans online: Navigate to the campus portal and select Student Self-Service from the upper left box or click the above link. Select the Access Banner Services and log on by using your Rowan id (user id) and Rowan pin (not the same as your FAFSA Pin) Once you log on, select Student and Financial Aid from the main menu. Then, click on the financial aid award tab then Accept Award Offer tab. Proceed by selecting the 0708 year. Now you should see a screen that breaks down the funds you have.

Guidance on Alternative Loans:

What are the major differences between PLUS loans and Alternative loans?

  • PLUS loans have a higher interest rate than some of the alternative loans.
  • PLUS loans are made to the student’s parent; alternative loans are usually made to the student.
  • Repayment of the PLUS loan cannot be postponed until your child is out of school but alternative loans may be postponed until the child is out of school.
  • Plus loans carry origination fees and other fees while some alternative loans do not.
  • NJCLASS has the lowest interest rates but the most stringent credit requirements.
