RESEARCH SUMMARY:
I am presently an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rowan University and President and Principal Consultant of Integrated Systems (a technology consulting, development and engineering firm). My current research focus includes industrial sustainability and life cycle assessment, renewable and novel energy systems, innovation and invention in electricity, sustainable design in engineering, Mach's Principle, and business transformation. My current lecturing at Rowan includes: Sustainable Design in Engineering, Networks, Electromagnetics, Power Systems, and Industrial Clinics. Former projects and responsibilities include: PSEG Nuclear Fault Tree Analysis, Project Manager Industrial Sustainability Group - Institute for Manufacturing - Cambridge University Engineering Department, and EPRI Task Force on Renewables. I have over 25-years of management and research experience in energy, engineering and consulting businesses in the United States and abroad (Conectiv, Atlantic Energy, Atlantic Energy International, PSEG, MIT, University of Cambridge, European Commission DG XII, UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, National Science Foundation). I obtained my first degree in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Engineering from Rowan University and most recently completed my PhD at the University of Cambridge on the topic of "An Empirical Approach to Invention and Technology Innovation in Electricity".
