RESEARCH SUMMARY:
My expertise is in the field of imaging, image processing and multi-sensor data fusion with applications to nondestructive evaluation (NDE). The Imaging and NDE lab, which I direct, supports research in magnetic, ultrasonic, acoustic, optical and X-ray CT imaging; design and development of artificial neural networks; and virtual reality (VR). The lab has pioneered the application of a variety of imaging techniques for non-invasive materials assessment and shape characterization. Research sponsors in the laboratory include the National Science Foundation, US Department of Energy, US Navy, American Cancer Society, ExxonMobil, Thomson Consumer Electronics, etc.
