Transfer Credits

Transfer students offered admission will receive a credit evaluation by the registrar and the academic department. Once that evaluation is completed, an adviser can answer questions about transferring credits from another institution to Rowan.

Evaluation of university transcripts

All foreign university records must be evaluated by the World Education Services or another recognized evaluation service. Please contact the World Education Service directly (see below). Request the “course by course” evaluation. Instruct the World Education Service to send the evaluation to Rowan University, Office of International Student Services.


Rowan Approved Course Equivalencies

Students entering Rowan from the listed institutions may transfer credit from the approved list of courses.

Shanghai International Studies University (SISU)

Shanxi University


International Baccalaureate Acceptance Policy

Rowan University awards transfer credit for International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. Students who earn the International Baccalaureate diploma may be granted credit in higher level subjects with scores of 5 or greater. All students will have their credentials evaluated on an individual basis for specific course equivalency. Rowan University must receive the Official IB transcript before credit will be assigned.

Diploma recipients who do not meet the minimum score requirements will receive course credit for only those higher level courses passed with a score of 5 or higher.

IB Certificate students (non-diploma) will receive course credits for each higher level course passed with an examination score of 5 or higher.
