In addition to the paper application, applicants must submit the following:
- $50 Application Fee
- Official original (or certified copies of) secondary school transcripts indicating grades and diplomas or graduation certificates. Original English language transcripts will be evaluated by the Rowan University Admissions Office. Transcripts not originally in English must be submitted through World Education Services (see below).
- Applicants whose first language is English must substitute SAT or ACT scores for TOEFL scores.
- Applicants interested in applying to the Rowan College of Engineering as first-year students must provide SAT or ACT scores. Those applying to Communications or Business majors are also encouraged to submit scores. Information on taking the SAT is available here.
All forms, transcripts, and other application materials must be submitted in English to:

Note for Prospective Engineering Majors: Engineering is a restricted program of study and there are a limited number of international applicants accepted into each program every semester. Students applying for admission into an Engineering program are required to choose a secondary program, outside of the College of Engineering, to maximize their chances of admission to Rowan University.
Deadlines: For September entrance, freshman and transfer applications and all required supporting materials are due March 1.The application deadline for spring semester entrance is November 1.
Immunization and Health Forms will also need to be completed and returned to the Office of International Student Services upon admission to the University.
Additional Information for Transfer Students
Students transferring to Rowan University from another institution within the United States must also submit the following:- Transfer Form for F-1 Students (for students currently in the United States on an F-1 visa. This form is included in the application packet.)
- Evaluation of university transcripts:
All foreign language university records must be evaluated by the World Education Services. Please contact WES directly (see below). NOTE: Students transferring from an institution with which Rowan has an existing transfer agreement are exempt from this requirement. Click here for a list of Rowan transfer equivalencies. - Copies of current I-20, visa, I-94 card, personal information page from passport (if currently in the United States)
Information for Undergraduate Exchange Students
Rowan University has exchange relationships with universities in several countries. Students at these universities around the world are able to spend a semester at Rowan. Interested students should contact the International Center's Office of International Student Services directly for information on admissions procedures.
English Language Requirements
Proficiency in both written and spoken English is absolutely necessary for successful study at Rowan University. Applicants whose first language is not English must document an acceptable level of English proficiency by submitting a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 79 on the internet based test (iBT). Corresponding scores for the paper and computer based tests are: 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT), or an IELTS level of 5.5.
All students will take a writing placement test upon arrival at Rowan to determine their entrance level in the University's first year writing program, [ESL1, ESL2, ELS3, Improving Personal Writing Skills (IPWS) or College Composition I (CC1)]
Transfer students who have not satisfactorily completed College Composition classes must sit for English proficiency testing at Rowan University. They may be required to take preparatory English (ESL) courses in addition to their regular classes.

- Transfer students with transcripts from foreign institutions should request the “course by course” evaluation.
- Incoming freshman students needing to evaluate secondary school transcripts should request the "document by document" evaluation.

Resident Aliens
The Office of International Student Services works with applicants seeking F or J Student Visa status only.
Applicants with Resident Alien immigration status (Green Cards), or from United States Territories such as Puerto Rico, are not considered to be International Students and should apply to Rowan University via the Office of Admissions.
