Academic Majors- Program Criteria

Undergraduate Degree Completion

Administered by the College of Graduate and Continuing Education

Undergraduate programs offered through the College Graduate & Continuing Education are designed to provide the remaining semester hours required to complete a bachelor’s degree from Rowan University for those who possess some transferrable college credits.  These programs are ideal for those students who may desire to transfer or enroll in a Rowan University program but need the convenience of online, Saturday, or off-campus course work. Semester hour requirements vary for each undergraduate degree completion program. Upon completion of a program, students will receive a Rowan University degree.

For more information, please contact College of Graduate & Continuing Education (CGCE) Recruitment at 856-256-4747, or visit the CGCE website at www.rowan.edu/degreecompletion.

Departmental policy for transfering Police Academy credits:
    1. Students must have a Police Training Commission (PTC) certificate if any credits will be transferred in.
    2. Police academy credits will be counted as the equivalent of credits from a 2-year school, thus to fall within the maximum 67 credits hours transferable from such institutions. If students attempting to transfer in academy credits already have 67 credits from a 2-year school, the credits will not be accepted.
    3. The Department of Law and Justice Studies will accept a maximum of 9 credits from police academy training.
    4.  Police academy credits will not be counted toward the major. They will count only as free electives. So, for example, we will not allow a student to transfer Criminal Law or any other specific course into Rowan based on academy work.
