Institutional Review Board

Rowan University's Institutional Review Board's (IRB) mission is to assure the safe and ethical treatment of human participants in research. Federal and university regulations require that all research involving human participants conducted by Rowan faculty, staff, and students be reviewed and approved by the IRB before initiation.

The Rowan IRB is comprised of Rowan faculty as well as a community representative. Though the IRB typically meets monthly during the academic year, the required appointments of new committee members and the corresponding meeting schedule for the 2008-2009 academic year has yet to be finalized.  Working with Rowan’s Senate leadership, the Associate Provost for Research plans to reconvene this committee as soon as possible.  In the interim, applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed.
