Welcome to the Department of Public Safety. I encourage you to visit our web page, browse through its sections, and if you have any questions, concerns or complaints, any of our Section Supervisors will be happy to speak with you.

Rowan offers a comprehensive public safety program for the university community. We provide services through the following sections: Police, Security, Crime Prevention, Parking, Fire Safety and Emergency Medical Services. We focus on preventive patrols, crime prevention programming, and the physical establishment of Crime Prevention Though Environmental Design standards throughout our campus.

The department is fully accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) which administers a rigorous accreditation process whereby law enforcement agencies must adhere to over 480 standards, codes and state-of-the-art practices. Our department is the first University in New Jersey to receive this prestigious recognition, and one of 50 in the nation.

We often use the motto: “It is in your Interest!”  This is because our effectiveness in maintaining a safe environment depends on you. Participating in the programs we offer will collectively contribute toward a safer campus environment.
