  1. How can the Parking Office for the Glassboro campus be contacted?
    The Parking office can be reached at 856-256-4575 during normal business hours 8:30 a.m.-4.30 p.m., Monday-Friday or email Parking@rowan.edu.
    The Parking office is located in Bole Annex on Whitney Avenue.  Type 601 Whitney Avenue into your GPS, locate lot P and park.  The Bole Annex is the beige one floor building where the Police vehicles are parked.

  2. Can Freshman and Sophomore Residents have cars on campus?
    SORRY…Both Freshman AND Sophomore students living on the Glassboro campus are not permitted to purchase a permit or park on campus.  For additional questions related to freshman and sophomore parking, please contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email Parking@rowan.edu.
  3. Do I have to have a parking permit or parking pass to park at Rowan on the Glassboro campus?
    All vehicles parked on campus must have a valid parking permit or visitor parking pass and must park in designated lots or garages.  The only exception to this rule is when events are scheduled and parking is assigned through the Parking office.  If you do not know where to park for an event, contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email Parking@rowan.edu.
  4. How can I order a Rowan parking permit for the Glassboro campus?
    • Student and Employee Permits are ordered using an online process at Rowan.thepermitstore.com using your Rowan Network credentials to sign in.    Other permit types can be purchased at RowanU.thepermitstore.com. 
    • Further instructions may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/permit.html.
    • Once the permit application is approved, print out a temporary parking pass to place on the dashboard of your registered vehicle as it can take up to ten days to receive the “stickered” permit in the mail from Iparq in CA (which is The Permit Store). 
    • Only one parking permit is issued per parking patron. You can have up to (3) vehicles registered to the one permit.  These (3) vehicles are owned or controlled by the permit holder and only one registered vehicle is permitted on campus at any given time.  All vehicles displaying the permit must be registered to the permit in the Parking system.
      Students are required to transfer the permit from one registered vehicle to the other with the exception of motorcycles.  If you choose not to transfer the “stickered” permit, then you must obtain a temporary parking pass.
  5. I’m trying to order a parking permit, but do not know my Rowan Network Credentials.  What should I do?
    If you forgot your password, you can click on “forgot my password” on the Login screen and follow the instructions.  Or, you can go to https://id.rowan.edu or contact the Support Desk at 856-256-4400 or email support@rowan.edu.
  6. What is the price of a parking permit?
    Please refer to the “permit fees” section of the RU Parking Rules and Regulations document online at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/regulation.html.
  7. Can I use my Rowan Bucks or Financial Aid to purchase the parking permit?
    Sorry, but at this time Rowan Bucks or Financial Aid in your Bursar account cannot be used to purchase a parking permit.
  8. What parking permit type should I order?
    • Adjuncts order the Adjunct/Fellow 2017-2018 permit.
    • Employees order the Employee 2017-2019 permit.
    • Commuters order the Commuter permit, available by academic year (Fall & Spring semester) or by semester, or the 411 Ellis Street permit – this permit is sold at a reduced fee since the 411 Ellis Street lot is off-campus parking.  An internal shuttle service is provided and the schedule can be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/home/map/about/visiting-rowan-university/shuttle-services.
    • Residents residing in the halls named Chestnut, Edgewood, Evergreen,  Laurel, Magnolia, Mimosa, Mullica, Oak, Triad and Willow order the Resident permit, available by academic year (Fall & Spring semester) or by semester.  Excludes Freshman and Sophomores.
    • Residents residing in Holly Pointe (lot X) – Residents eligible for a parking permit at Holly Pointe are required to contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email parking@rowan.edu.
    • Residents residing in the Townhouse Garage order the Townhouse Garage permit, available by academic year (Fall & Spring semester) or by semester.
    • Residents residing in the Rowan Blvd. Apartments and Whitney -order the Rowan Blvd. Garage permit, available by academic year (Fall & Spring semester) or by semester.
    • Residents residing at 220 Rowan Blvd., 223 High Street, 230 Victoria Street– contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email parking@rowan.edu for further information.
    • Recreation Center members not otherwise affiliated with the University must see staff at the Recreation Center who will order the Recreation Center 2017-2018 permit for you.
    • Contractors, vendor’s (including the employees of the food service company contracted by Rowan and working on campus), and volunteers or uncompensated employees on campus  for extended periods of time order the Service 2017-2018 permit (available annually or by semester) at RowanU.thepermitstore.com.  Ordering instructions may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/permit.html.
    • For any other permit types, please contact the Parking office for the criteria or requirements required.
  9. Where should I park?
    • Employee lots are reserved for employees and adjuncts with a valid “Employee” (E) or “Adjunct/Fellow” (A) permit. They include lots A-1, A-2, C-1, D-2, E, G, H, K, M, N, O-1, O-2, P, S, Shpeen, T, U and Z-1.  Employees and Adjuncts may park in student lots only when necessary. Parking garages are excluded.
    • Commuter lots are reserved for commuter AND resident students with a valid “Commuter” © or “Resident” ® permit. They include lots A, B-1, C, D, D-1, F-1, O, R, and Y.  
    • 411 Ellis Street lot is reserved for Commuters only with either a valid “Commuter” © or “411 Ellis Street” permit.  The 411 Ellis Street parking lot is for commuter off-campus parking at a reduced rate.  Shuttle service is free to Rowan students with a valid Rowan ID.  Shuttle schedules and app instructions may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/home/map/about/visiting-rowan-university/shuttle-services
    • There is no parking allowed in Commuter lots from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
    • Evening Commuter students with a valid Commuter © permit may only use employee lots H, O-1, P and Z-1 between 4:30 p.m. to 12:00 midnight, Monday through Friday.
    • Resident lots are reserved for resident AND commuter students with a valid “Resident” ® or “Commuter” © permit. They include lots B, Chestnut, Chestnut-1, Edgewood, F-Triad, J and W.  Commuters with a valid Commuter permit cannot park in Resident lots from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. 
    • The Townhouse Garage (first and second level only) is reserved for resident students of the Townhouses with a valid “Townhouse Garage” permit.  A “Townhouse Garage” permit allows your registered vehicle to be parked on the first and second level in the Townhouse Garage only. A Townhouse Garage permit does not allow your registered vehicle to be parked in any other campus lot.
    • The Rowan Blvd. Garage (upper levels only) is reserved for resident students of the Rowan Blvd. Apartments and Whitney with a valid “Rowan Blvd. Garage” permit.  A “Rowan Blvd. Garage” permit allows your registered vehicle to be parked on the upper levels of the Rowan Blvd. Garage only.  A Rowan Blvd. Garage permit does not allow your registered vehicle to be parked in any Rowan University campus lot/garage.  The Rowan Blvd. Garage is owned and operated by Nexus Parking Systems, therefore, the Nexus Parking Rules and Regulations also apply.
    • The “Resident Director/Graduate Coordinator” permit allows your registered vehicle to be parked in Commuter or Resident lots only.
    • Recreation Center members not otherwise affiliated with the University are required to have a permit to park on campus.  See the Recreation Center staff to order your permit.   Recreation Center permit holders are permitted to park in lot M from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. and Lots B or C at other times.  The Rowan University Parking Rules and Regulations apply to all Recreation Center members.
  10. Can I park overnight in any parking lot on the Glassboro campus?
    Overnight parking on the Glassboro campus is limited to Resident permit holders in the following residential lots: B, Chestnut, Chestnut-1, Edgewood, F-Triad, J and W.  Overnight parking is limited to Garage permit holders on the 1st and 2nd level of the Townhouse Garage and the upper levels of the Rowan Blvd. Garage.
     If a guest or visitor without a permit, you will need to purchase a “Visitor Overnight” pass online at RowanU.thepermitstore.com.  Ordering instructions may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/permit.html.  The cost is $5.00 per night and is valid until 8:00 a.m. the following morning.  Parking is for lot B only.
  11. What is “activating” my parking permit?
    The action of “activating” your parking permit validates the permit.
    Once you receive your “stickered” permit, you’ll need to log into your account to “activate” it.  Instructions will be included in the envelope when your permit arrives in the mail or instructions can be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/permit.html.

  12. Who is allowed to park in the Parking Garages on the Glassboro campus?
    • The Townhouse Garage (first and second level only) is reserved for resident students of the Townhouses with a valid “Townhouse Garage” permit. 
    • The Rowan Blvd. Garage (upper levels only) is reserved for resident students of Rowan Blvd. Apartments and Whitney with a valid “Rowan Blvd. Garage” permit.
      Note:  Based on availability, garage parking may be offered to non-resident students or faculty/staff during the school year provided they either purchase a “Townhouse Garage” or “Rowan Blvd. Garage” permit.  This permit would be an additional permit.  There is no refund for the original permit purchased.
  13. How long are parking permits valid?
  14. How should my parking permit be displayed on my car?
    The “stickered” permit must be displayed on the driver side, rear passenger window – on the inside bottom left corner of the window (preferably, if available, place the permit on the small window portion that does not roll down).  Only if this placement is not possible, place the permit in the back window in the bottom left corner.
    If windows are tinted, scanners may or may not be able to read the barcode on the permit. Therefore, officers will run the license plate number to determine whether the vehicle is registered to a valid permit in the Parking system.
  15. I’m a Student Worker; can I order an Employee parking permit?
    A Student Worker is considered a student first.  Therefore, you are required to purchase a permit.  The Permit type is determined by your residence on campus or whether you are a Commuter.
  16. Help!  I ordered the wrong parking permit!

  17. I’m moving to a different dorm.  Do I need to change my parking permit?
    It depends on where you are moving to?  Please contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or email Parking@rowan.edu.
  18. I'm visiting the Rowan University – Glassboro Campus.  How can I get a Visitor parking pass?
    • A “visitor” is defined as a guest on campus not otherwise affiliated with the University or may be affiliated with Rowan at another location other than the Glassboro campus.
    • Visitor parking spaces are available by the Welcome Gate in Lot H on Rt. 322.  These visitor parking spaces are signed and limited to parking for 45 minutes only.  If present, see the guard at the guard booth for a pass.
    • Otherwise, visitors must obtain a temporary pass to park a vehicle on campus.  The only exception to this rule is when events are scheduled and parking is assigned through the Parking office.  If you do not know where to park for an event, contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email parking@rowan.edu for information.
    • If you are a visitor/guest of a college or department on campus, please contact that college or department directly.  They should arrange issuing an electronic temporary pass for you in advance.  You will need to provide them with your first and last name and vehicle information (license plate number, state, make, model, year and color).
    • A visitor DAY pass is free of charge and valid between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and can be obtained at:
      • Parking Office – located in Bole Annex, 601 Whitney Ave., Parking lot P.  Normal business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
      • Public Safety (DPS) Communications Center lobby window – located in Bole Annex, 601 Whitney Ave., Parking lot P and is open 24/7, seven days a week.
      • Welcome Gate – located on Rt. 322 across from the Student Center, Parking lot H.  The guard is available in the guard booth from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
      • If possible, prior to your visit, access and complete the Request for Temporary Parking Pass form online at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/tempPass.  Type the information required and print the form.  Submit this form in-person at any of the locations listed above.  For your convenience, computers and printers are available at the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Communications Center lobby or the Parking office.  Once staff reviews and approves your request; they will complete and issue you a temporary hang-tag specifying the lot to park.  This hang tag is to be placed on the rear view mirror of the vehicle.  The information written on the hang-tag should be facing outward for security officers to view.
    • A visitor OVERNIGHT pass can be purchased online at RowanU.thepermitstore.com for a fee of $5.00 per night and is valid until 8:00 a.m. the following morning.  This pass allows your registered vehicle to be parked in Lot B only and the pass must be properly displayed on the dashboard of the registered vehicle.  How to apply may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/documents/HowtoApplyforaVisitorOvernightpassatRowanU.thepermitstore.pdf.  For detailed ordering instructions, go to http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/documents/OrderaVisitorOvernightPassatRowanU.thepermitstore.com.pdf.

  19. I’m a student at Rowan University – Glassboro campus and would like to request a pass to park since I do not have a “stickered” parking permit as I do not normally bring a vehicle on campus.

  20. If I have a handicapped placard or handicapped license plate, do I still need a Rowan parking permit or parking pass?
    Yes!  A Rowan parking permit and/or parking pass and the handicapped placard or license plate must be on display at all times in order to avoid a parking citation.  You are not restricted to specific lots based on your permit type if you are parking in a handicapped space with a handicapped placard or license plate.  Additional information regarding handicapped parking may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/handicap.html.
  21. If I’m changing my student status, may I sell my parking permit?
    Selling your permit is strictly prohibited!  Any unauthorized person(s) who sells or purchases a campus parking permit is subject to fines, administrative discipline and revocation of all parking rights on campus.
    Instead, contact the Parking office at 856-256-4575 or email parking@rowan.edu to determine if you are eligible for a refund.  If yes, a $10.00 processing fee will apply.
  22. What should I do if my vehicle with the “stickered” parking permit on it is being sold or is in an accident?
    Remove the “stickered” permit and transfer it to the vehicle you will be parking on campus.  Access your account at The Permit Store to register, add, or remove a vehicle from the permit.  For instructions, go to http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/permit.html.
     Also, if you purchased a new vehicle, temporary license plates issued by the state are also valid and must be registered to your permit.  Then, once you receive the permanent plates, update your vehicle information again in The Permit Store.
    If you have a rental vehicle, visit the Parking office for a temporary pass.

  23. What should I do if my parking permit is lost or stolen?
    If a permit is lost or stolen, you are required to obtain a Replacement permit.  Refer to the Fees and Violation section of the Rowan University Parking Rules and Regulations-Glassboro Campus document at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/regulation.html.
  24. I’m a department, club, student, etc. affiliated with Rowan University who is sponsoring a special activity and/or event on the Glassboro campus which requires parking.  Where should our guests park?
    Notify the Parking Office at Parking@rowan.edu at least one week in advance so that specific lots can be assigned. Please provide the name of the event, location of the event, date/day, start and end times and the approximate number of attendees.
    The Parking Administrator will review your request, assign parking and the Parking office will respond via email.  The event and parking assignment is then listed on the Parking calendar and posted in the Police Briefing book so that citations are not issued for reason of “no permit/pass”.
  25. Is there a shuttle service on the Glassboro campus?
    Yes, the Glassboro Internal Shuttle operates on the main Glassboro campus from7:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday through Friday.  All shuttle services and app instructions may be viewed at http://www.rowan.edu/home/map/about/visiting-rowan-university/shuttle-services.
    This service is free to Rowan students and faculty/staff with a valid Rowan ID.
  26. Does Rowan provide a safety escort?
    Yes!  The Department of Public Safety (DPS) on the Glassboro campus offers a safety escort service to any student, employee or visitor who may feel unsafe walking from one location to another on campus.  Contact (856) 256-4922 and press 1 to request a walking escort on campus.
  27. What are the costs of parking violations on the Glassboro campus?

      Tips to Avoid Needless Tickets!  Violations Hold for Any Period of Time! Follow the Rules!
    • Obtain a permit or a parking pass to park.
    • Be sure your permit or parking pass is not expired and displayed properly.
    • Be sure to park in your designated lots.  All authorized campus lots are signed.  Commuters use Commuter or Resident lots.  Commuter Students with a “411 Ellis Street permit”, park in the 411 Ellis Street lot only.  Residents use Resident or Commuter lots.  Townhouse Residents use the 1st and 2nd level of the Townhouse Parking Garage only.  Rowan Boulevard and Whitney Residents use the Rowan Boulevard Parking Garage upper levels only.
    • Commuters or Residents – be sure your vehicle is parked in Lot O (not O-1 which is an Employee lot).
    • Don’t park in signed spaces.  For example, spaces signed “reserved” require an “M” permit.
    • Be sure to obey all posted signage.
    • Don't park or drive on lawns, sidewalks or along a curb.
    • Don’t park on yellow diagonal lines.
    • Park properly within a designated lined space on paved surfaces.  If a gravel lot, vehicle must be parked in front of a parking bumper. 
    • Advise your visitor or guest that they are required to obtain a Visitor Day Pass or purchase a Visitor Overnight Pass to park on campus.  Refer to the Visitor Parking section of the Rowan University Parking Rules and Regulations-Glassboro Campus document at http://www.rowan.edu/safety/parking/regulation.html. Visitor Day passes are valid between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at no charge and Visitor Overnight passes are valid until 8:00 a.m. the following day for a fee.
    • If you are handicapped with a handicapped placard or handicapped license plate, you can park in any lot in a handicapped space; however, either a valid permit or parking pass must also be displayed.
    • Do not park in Load/Unload areas for more than 20 minutes. Flashers must be on.
    • Spaces in front of the Student Center are for pick-up and drop-off only -“No Parking”.  In other words, do not leave your vehicle unattended.
  28. If I receive a parking citation on the Glassboro campus, can I appeal it?
    If you feel a citation was issued in error, you may appeal the administrative citation online at Rowan.thepermitstore.com within ten days of issuance date.  The Parking Office does not accept appeals later than ten (10) days.  Any appeal not appealed online at Rowan.thepermitstore.com will not be accepted.  There are no “in-person” appeals.
    Municipal citations (summons) must be addressed at the municipal court listed on the summons.
  29. If I receive a parking citation on the Glassboro campus, how do I pay the fine?
    Fines should be paid online at Rowan.thepermitstore.com  or (if necessary) mailed to:
