The following information will help you complete the enrollment process at Rowan University. This information is specific to freshman students. If you are a new transfer, please go back to the last page and click on the "transfer" icon.
For many of the following registration processes you will need your Rowan Student ID number. This number is located at the bottom of your acceptance letter. The first time you log into any system your password is your birthdate (mmddyy - example: April 3, 1990 would be 040390).
Enrollment Confirmation
Fall 2013 Accepts - you received an Enrollment Confirmation form with your acceptance letter. In order to officially enroll at Rowan University you need to mail that confirmation form to Rowan, along with the $100 enrollment fee. The fee must be paid via check or money order. Cash and electronic payment are not accepted at this time. Please mail the Enrollment Confirmation and fee to the address listed on the bottom of the form. Fall Enrollment Confirmations are due by May 1, 2013.
Please note: You will not be able to do many of the other things on this page (register for housing, register for orientation, etc.) until your Enrollment Confirmation form and fee have been received and entered by the Admissions Office.

Housing & Meal Plans
Have you mailed your Enrollment Confirmation form and enrollment fee to the Admissions Office? If not, you cannot apply for housing yet. The Enrollment Confirmation form and fee must be received and entered by the admissions office before you can apply for housing. See "Enrollment Confirmation" above.
Welcome to Residential Learning at Rowan University. The Office of Residential Learning and University Housing (RLUH) uses an online application process for Housing and Meal Plans that is easy and convenient.
Directions for students to apply for University Housing:
- Log onto www.rowan.edu/selfservice
- Login using your Rowan Student Identification number (printed on your acceptance letter) and your six digit birthdate (MMDDYY if you have not already changed your password)
- Click on the "Student tab"
- Click on "My Housing"
- Click on "Apply Online"
- Fill out appropriate application for the correct term
Should you at any time like to go back and update preferences in your application, you can do so by logging back in and editing your original application.
To request roommates:
- Log onto www.rowan.edu/selfservice
- Login using your Rowan Student Identification number (printed on your acceptance letter) and your six digit birthdate (MMDDYY if you have not already changed your password)
- Click on "My Housing"
- Click on "My Housing" again
- Hover over "Room Selection"
- Click "Roommate Selection"
Please note students must wait until the next business day after they have filled out their housing application to complete their roommate requests. In addition, roommates must mutually select one another through My Housing.
As part of the application process, you will be directed to the Rowan University secure web payent site to subit your $200 housing deposit. The deposit will be credited toward your housing bill. The housing deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Your housing application is not considered complete until after the housing deposit has been submitted with your online application.
The housing deposit may be paid via credit card (VISA, MC, AMEX) or electronic check. Please have your credit card or checkbook ready in order to complete the process. DO NOT send payment through the mail.
Housing application and deposit must be received by December 1 for spring (January) entrance and May 1 for fall (September) entrance.
Mandatory Housing
It is the policy of Rowan University that all unmarried undergraduate full-time students, under the age of 21, whether or not emancipated, who will not be living in the residence of their parent or legal guardian, must reside in the University residential facilities until completion of their sophomore year (or four full-semesters). Students who wish to commute from the residence of their parent or legal guardians must live within a 40-mile radius of the institution and furnish a notarized statement of student residence confirming this.
Meningitis Vaccination
Documentation of Meningitis vaccine is required for all new students prior to any housing assignment. See "Health Forms" below.
Disability Accommodations
If you have a documented disability that may require special housing accommodations, you must provide documentation of your disability to the Academic Success Center in order to receive official University services and accommodations. The Academic Success Center can be reached at 856-256-4259.
Housing and Meal Plan Options-
- All Freshmen must reside in the Freshmen Residence Halls.
- Freshmen Residence Hall students must select the All-Access or 14 meals per week meal plan.
- Transfer students may choose housing preference from Residence Hall room, Apartment, or Townhouse.
- All residence hall students (upperclassmen) must select from the All-Access, 14 meals/week, 10 meals/week, or 7 meals/week meal plans.
- Students residing in an apartment or townhouse may select from any of the available meal plans.
- Commuting students may choose any meal plan, if desired.
- All students may choose to add funds to the optional RowanCard Debit Account to learn more, refer to www.rowan.edu/rowancard.

Mandatory Pre-Entrance Health Forms
The Student Health Center welcomes you. To get off to a great start you will need to complete ALL your required health forms as soon as possible. Please make an appointment with your healthcare provider as soon as possible to complete the immunization and physical exam forms. In addition to your healthcare provider, your high school is a good source for your immunization records.
Submitting the forms after the due date may result in up to $100 in late fees and an immunization hold. Immunization holds prevent students from registering, dropping/adding classes, and viewing final grades.
All forms should be completed and submitted together directly to the Student Health Center, as directed on their site. DO NOT send Health Forms to the Admissions Office.

Placement Testing
According to University policy, all freshman students are required to take placement tests. No student will be considered officially registered until the testing is complete.
The purpose of testing is to assess your individual skills in language, mathematics, and to assist you and your advisor in making decisions about the kinds of courses you are prepared to take. Your scores will also indicate what areas of Rowan University's basic skill requirements you have satisfied.
What tests do I need to take?
- Reading Comprehension (exempt if SAT critical reading score is 550 or above)
- Elementary Algebra (exempt if SAT math score is 550 or above)
- College-Level Mathematics (the following majors only: Biological Sciences, Business, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physical Science). Only students who have successfully completed AP Calculus in high school are exempt.
When and where do I take the tests?
All tests will be administered at the Center for Academic Success in Savitz Hall, 3rd floor, room 304 on a "walk-in" basis. See available dates below.
Fall (September) admits - Tests will administered on Mondays and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. throughout the spring semester beginning February 4, 2013, on a "walk-in" basis only. Testing must be completed by April 26, 2013.

Orientation
After you have sent your Enrollment Confirmation and fee (see "Enrollment Confirmation" above), detailed Orientation information will be sent to your Rowan email account in November for spring admits and March for fall admits. General Information is listed below.
Orientation will introduce you to the culture, traditions, and expectations of Rowan University. Attendance and participation at a new student orientation program is required for all new first year and transfer students. Orientation provides you with information and access to resources you need to have a successful college experience. You will also meet with an academic advisor who will help you understand your academic program and required courses, and finalize your class schedule.
Orientation dates are available in December/January for spring (January) entrance and June for fall (September) entrance based on your academic major. Reservations are required and made on a first-come, first-served basis. The dates available for your academic program will be presented to you by the online reservation system.
A non-refundable orientation fee is required to confirm your reservation. The fee for the one-day December/January Orientation is $75. The fee for the two-day June Orientation is $175. The fee covers meals and materials for the student and up to two parents or adult family members attending orientation. The June fee also covers overnight accommodations for the student in University housing. You will not pay this fee until you confirm an orientation date and several payment options are accepted.

Financial Aid & Scholarships
Financial Aid -
Applying for financial aid at Rowan is easy. All you have to do is file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and you will be considered for federal, NJ state, and institutional financial aid. The FAFSA may be completed and filed electronically at www.fafsa.gov. We encourage you to apply regardless of whether or not you feel you are eligible.
All applicants seeking federal and state aid must file the FAFSA after January 1. The Office of Financial Aid at Rowan encourages you to file by March 15. After filing the FAFSA you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) for your records. If you file the FAFSA including Rowan's school code, we will automatically receive your information. New Jersey residents will also receive a Student Eligibility Notice from the state.
Rowan's federal school code is 002609.

Scholarships -
Rowan rewards academic success through an extensive scholarship program. There is no separate application. By applying to Rowan you are considered for all academic-based scholarships. To view scholarship guidelines, click on the Financial Aid website below or go directly to the site here.
If you qualified for a scholarship, an award letter was included with your acceptance letter.

Information Resources has created an online resource for your technology needs. Email is the official method of communication at Rowan and should be checked regularly. Students who don't want to check their Rowan account regularly should have it automatically forwarded to their preferred email account.
Rowan Student Handbook
Know your rights! All Rowan students should read and become familiar with the Rowan Student Handbook, particularly the Student Code of Conduct. The Student Handbook provides an overview of policies and practices governing undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate work at the institution.
