Chemistry

Rowan's Chemistry program includes organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and polymer chemistry. The degree features a required research project, an experience designed to prepare students for deeper research in graduate school and throughout their career. Rowan chemistry majors use sophisticated instruments not commonly found in undergraduate labs including a gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer. At some universities, such equipment is often reserved for faculty and graduate research but Rowan chemistry majors begin using it freshmen year.    Many Rowan chemistry majors pursue graduate study in the sciences, medicine and other allied health fields. Students interested in teaching chemistry may pursue a Subject Matter Teaching Certificate along with the major.
