Health/Exercise Science: Health Promotion/Fitness Management
Health promotion and fitness management is all about wellness. It's an approach to health that focuses on improving one's quality of life through positive lifestyle habits. Organizations today realize that a healthy employee is a happy and productive employee. Many incorporate wellness into their mission and hire qualified staff to manage their programs. Successful health care professionals promote good health through proper nutrition, exercise, and healthy lifestyle choices. If your passion is keeping people fit and healthy through community or health care agencies, hospitals, commercial wellness centers or corporate health and fitness outlets, HPFM is the major for you. Rowan’s program in HPFM received the Distinguished Undergraduate Program Award from the National Wellness Institute in 2010 and serves as a model for other institutions.
