Biochemistry
As the name suggests, Biochemistry is the chemistry of life, a study incorporating several disciplines including chemistry, biology, physics, genetics and math. With a Rowan degree in biochemistry you can specialize in any of the related areas of chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, structural biology, pharmacology or medicine. Rowan's proximity to biotech firms, pharmaceutical companies and biomedical labs creates vast opportunities for internships and collaborative research. The Biochemistry program prepares students for graduate study in such disciplines as chemistry and biology as well as medical school and other allied health programs including veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmacology, podiatry and optometry. Many science-based career paths require advanced studies and a bachelor's in Biochemistry builds a strong base for graduate work.
