Physics
Rowan's Department of Physics & Astronomy offers budding scientists a variety of educational options including the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts in physics, a minor in physics, and a minor in astronomy. Physics students may perform research with faculty in a variety of areas, including condensed matter physics, theoretical physics, biological physics, and astronomy. Special physics facilities include a magnetics lab, a physical properties lab, a thin film fabrication lab, a microscopy lab, an ultrafast spectroscopy lab, a laser cooling lab, a computational physics lab, and an astrophysics & planetary science research lab. The B.S. in Physics is good preparation for graduate studies in physics, astronomy, or a host of engineering programs as well as to move directly into a technical career. The B.A. is good preparation for technically oriented careers, post-bac studies, or a career in high school education.
