Credentialing is the process of obtaining the documents that prove completion of medical school, residency program, fellowship or additional medical training based on specialty, licenses and certifications. The documents are confirmed by the issuing bodies as a part of the primary source verification process. Additional verifications included: sanctions or limitations of medical license, site visit reviews and on-going monitoring of changes in the physicians credential status.
Our purpose is to confirm that our practitioners have received a quality education and are maintaining all appropriate licenses and certifications that allow them to deliver quality patient care. The Credentialing Committee, which is lead by the Medical Director and 4 other physicians of various specialties, reviews the practitioner’s credentials upon initial appointment and every two years thereafter to assess their licensure/certification status, training and malpractice history to confirm it meets the standards of the RowanSOM University Doctors Faculty Practice plan.
