Interprofessional Lecture Series
The NJGEC provides a variety of statewide, interprofessional conferences and lecture series to support the continuing education of geriatric medical and health professionals. Programs are designed to utilize the principles of evidence-based practice in promoting collaborative, interprofessional team building across multiple disciplines and promote the most current, quality care. The intent of the NJGEC’s continuing education conferences and lectures is to increase participants’ awareness/knowledge of clinical geriatrics and to positively impact treatment and overall care of elderly patients.
Grand Rounds Series at SJH
In partnership with South Jersey Healthcare (SJH), an NJGEC consortium partner, the NJGEC provides an annual, three-session Geriatric Grand Rounds series. The didactic lecture series is held live at the SJH-Vineland division and videoconferenced to the SJH-Elmer division. SJH Grand Rounds is designed to target an interprofessional group of medical and health professionals; all series presenters are NJGEC faculty members. Allopathic physicians earn CME credit and nurses earn CE credit for each lecture attended in the series.
Annual Statewide Geriatric Conference
The NJGEC partners with the New Jersey Long-Term Care Leaders Coalition (NJLTCLC) to deliver an annual statewide CE conference. Each year, the conference targets the learning needs of medical and health professionals throughout NJ; CME/CE credit is offered for allopathic physicians, medical directors, nurses, nursing home administrators, pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers. The NJLTCLC consists of: NJ Geriatrics Society, NJ Medical Directors Association, NJ Association of Directors of Nursing Administration/LTC, and NJ Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators.
