Certification & Qualifications

International Certification

The Rowan University Tutor Training Program has been certified by the College Reading and Learning Association. Rowan tutors can earn a College Reading and Learning Association Level I Tutor Certificate by completing prescribed hours of training and tutoring.

Tutor Qualifications

Peer tutors are upper-class Rowan University students with a 3.0 or higher GPA, an A or B in the course being tutored, and a positive recommendation from a faculty member in the subject area being tutored. Peer tutors are also interviewed by the Coordinator of Tutoring before selection.
