First Appointment

How to Make your First Appointment
You can arrange a first appointment by calling the Center at 256-4222, or you may stop by the office in Savitz Hall and schedule your appointment in person. You will be scheduled to meet with the first available counselor for this initial intake appointment.

What to Expect at your First Appointment
When you come to the Counseling Center for the first time, you will be asked to complete a confidential general information form and a consent document, which takes about ten minutes.

During the initial consultation with a counselor, you will have a chance to talk about your concerns. Based on the information presented, the counselor will make recommendations that may include individual or group counseling, further evaluation, or referral to other services on- or off-campus.

Some students find that the initial consultation meets their needs, and they require no further services.
