First Appointment
How to Make your First Appointment
You can arrange a first appointment by calling or visiting the office in Savitz Hall to schedule an appointment. During this first appointment you will meet with a counselor for approximately 30 minutes to review your concerns. After this meeting you will receive a phone call to schedule an appointment with a counselor you will meet with regularly.
What to Expect at your First Appointment
When you come to the Counseling Center for the first time you will be asked to complete a confidential general information form and a consent document.
During the initial consultation with a counselor will be 30 minutes where you will have a chance to learn about our services, other resources, and talk briefly about your concerns. Based on the information presented the counselor will make recommendations that may include individual or group counseling, further evaluation, or referral to other services on- or off-campus.
